PMP Formula Schedule Variance (SV)

Schedule Variance (SV) is defined as the difference between the earned value and the planned value. It is one of the ways to check the project performance. Equation: Schedule Variance = Earned Value - Planned Value.

  • = EV - PV

  • (A positive value of SV refers that you are ahead of the Schedule and a negative value of SV refers that you are behind Schedule)
